What I did for my VW Bus today- front cargo floor mat

I need to take care of the front floor area of my VW Bus.

It was pretty bare. To help with noise and vibration, I wanted to use carpet.

I have a heavy duty mat that will provide more protection, I wanted to use that as well.

I used both.

Hopefully the mat and carpet combined will reduce noise, vibration and help to

reduce drafts coming through the floor.

The floor seals around the gas / brake pedals need to be replaced.

This should help to keep everything dry and cozy...
I thought about using a floor protector instead of the mat.
That would've worked just fine.
I think it would have been to hard to cut...

VW Bus- Bamboo Floor

After doing the interior of 1977 VW Bus with carpet, I found something better.
I was at the Thrift Store and I found a box of Bamboo Flooring.
Six foot long, hand scraped Bamboo flooring.
This stuff is usually about $7.00 a square foot.
$3.98 is what I paid for it. It was marked down from $9.98.
I had hardwood flooring in my Hi Top VW Bus. I like it.
Bamboo Flooring is a pretty good alternative for Hardwood Flooring.
Especially for $3.98...

What I did for My VW Bus, painted the rear cargo area, found carpet.

So I have my interior color scheme sorta figured out.
The carpet was a bonus. FREE is good!

Here's the Tachometer and how it looks in the guage cluster. I think it looks pretty good.

Tachometer for my VW Bus

Here's my Tachometer for my 1977 VW Bus.
I got it at the dump in North Carolina.
Evidently you can drop your old boat or just about anything.
Eventually it gets smashed up and disposed of.
When me and my Dad were at the dump, we decided to
take the entire gauge cluster. I figure the boat was from the late seventies.
The tachometer had a look that will hopefully blend into the bus.
Free, is a good price for the Tachometer, if it works.....

What I did on Sunday

I decided to paint my bus Hunter Green, and almond with an Orange Stripe around the middle.
The Orange stripe wasn't what I was going for. I'm thinking I might re paint it Red again.
